Your inbox is empty. Your career is about to get ridiculous.

Jamie Reed starts a quiet morning by turning the office into a mini-golf course. His manager notices—and promotes him for putting instead of working. Soon, a few well-placed shots are keeping his coworkers paid and the building standing.

Putt for Promotion is a single-player office mini-golf adventure. Aim, time your power, and putt around desks, through absurd performance reviews, and all the way to the CEO's chair. Then defend the company in the second campaign chapter, Hostile Takeover.

Development note: This game was developed with substantial generative-AI assistance. The development and credits section below explains how it was used.

Clock in. Tee off.

  • 60 campaign holes across 12 departments, from the kitchenette to a skyline penthouse.
  • 12 boss reviews, two campaign chapters, eight recurring characters, and 14 illustrated story scenes.
  • 4 clubs, 5 ball types, and 14 outfits to unlock, plus medals and best scores to chase.
  • Mail tubes, security shutters, slippery surfaces, boost pads, and office furniture that makes every promotion a little stranger.
  • Simple aim-and-release putting with an oscillating power meter.
  • Optional power-confirm controls, relaxed boss limits, an aim guide, reduced motion, and separate music and sound settings.

Visit the Training Annex

Choose Training Annex / New Rooms in the main menu for six extra rooms. Learn longer layouts, an L-shaped office, breakable glass shortcuts, a crossing coworker, and a keyboard challenge: type HELP by hitting keys with golf balls. Annex progress is separate from your campaign.

How to play

Mouse: point to aim, hold the left button to charge, then release to putt.
Keyboard: A/D or left/right to aim; hold Space and release to putt. Q/E changes clubs, B changes balls, R retries the current hole, and Escape pauses.
Controller: left stick to aim, hold A and release to putt, LB/RB for clubs, Y for balls, and Start to pause. Xbox-style button labels are shown; device compatibility may vary.
Annex: Tab / controller View opens the room map. Enter / A skips the room preview.
Story: Enter / A advances, Left revisits, Escape / B skips.

The power meter rises and falls while you hold. Release at the strength you want. Prefer a steadier approach? Enable Power-confirm in Options.

About this release

This is the RC9 browser playtest, with the complete two-chapter campaign and the six-room Training Annex. Keyboard and mouse are the recommended starting point. Desktop browser play is the launch target; mobile touch play is not supported.

Progress saves locally in your browser. Use the same browser and itch.io game page to return to it. Clearing site data can erase progress; private browsing or restrictive storage settings can prevent saves. Progress from our separate play.tripglobal.com test site does not transfer automatically to itch.io.

If you find a problem, leave a comment with the room name, your browser, your controls, and what happened. Feedback on difficulty and readability is especially useful.

Development, AI disclosure & credits

The creator supplied the office-golf concept, story premise, feature requests, visual direction, and iterative feedback. Generative AI was used extensively to implement and revise the game.

  • Code and game content: Codex assisted with programming, course data, dialogue, and implementation of the gameplay systems.
  • Artwork: the office backgrounds, character portraits, furniture, outfit sprites, and floor effects were generated with AI and integrated into the game.
  • Audio: the music and sound effects are synthesized from code written with AI assistance, rather than recorded performances.
  • Testing: automated checks and browser testing were used during development. This remains a playtest release; we welcome player feedback on difficulty, controls, and readability.

The gallery shows captures from the actual game. The campaign uses defined course layouts, and the Training Annex contains six additional authored room definitions. Built with Godot Engine and the Tiny5 typeface; third-party license notices are included in the game package.
